6:30 crew post Fran.
Core strength is the level by which you keep the mid-line stabilized. There are few movements that rival the OHS for core development. It also allows us to test shoulder flexibility, your ability to handle load overhead and communicate the differences between an “active€ and “passive€ shoulder and how they both affect performance.
“The overhead squat is the ultimate core exercise, the heart of the snatch, and peerless in developing effective athletic movement.
This functional gem trains for efficient transfer of energy from large to small body parts €“ the
essence of sport movement. For this reason it is an indispensable tool for developing speed and
power.
The overhead squat is to midline control, stability, and balance what the clean and snatch are to power€“ unsurpassed.€

Remember we have the Olympic lifting seminar this Saturday. There are still a few spots open. In order to keep your spot the deadline to pay is Thursday to keep your spot. Thanks.
We are going to be doing an excursion to Trader Joes on Wednesday night after the 6:30pm class. It will be a fun trip where we will show you what to buy and what to stay away from. Its a hands on lesson on nutrition that everyone should attend. Please post to comments if your interested.
WOD
5-5-5-5-5
Overhead Squats
Rest 10 minutes then
5 rounds of:
5 Deadlifts (275#m, 185#w)
10 Burpees

This WOD looks amazing, I am SO excited! Overhead Squats have to be the most challenging, yet gratifying exercise that I have done in Crossfit!
Bring on the fun!!!
This is the kind of intensity that I want to see on our WODs.
