February 9th, 2010

Guys/gals if you have not signed up yet for the Next Level Invitational on April 10th do it now. So far we have Justin, Kos, Phillip, and Schinn signed up. If you have registered or plan to post to comments. This will be a really fun event. 1 day with 3 workouts.

If you are interested in being a mentor for a new athlete let us know. We would like to see the members that have been here awhile take a someone under their wing for the first few months that they are here. The aim of this is to keep new people from becoming lost or intimidated upon joining our box. It can be a bit daunting in the begining for some. The mentor would trade emails/facebook and coordinate workouts, answer any training/nutrition advice, and offer motivation. You can make a difference in someones life.

We are considering moving the 10am class to 9am and making it a 5 days a week class. Post to comments or pm me if that interests you.

I can’t believe I am going to miss my nemesis WOD! I have been dreaming of the day I conquer this bad ass WOD. I fully expect Joshie and Ron to set some box records on this one. I will have to do this as a make up but I need someone who is a good yeller and motivator.

Yes I will be a mentor

    • Ron A. says:

So sad I’ll miss it too. I’m wrapped up at a trade show all day today and tomorrow. Let’s see some big PR’s today everyone. Joshie, I’m sure you’ll hit 315 today!

  5. Philip says:

I would like to be a mentor.

  6. lindsay says:

I am okay with a 9am class instead of 10am. I will be there at 7am tomorrow morning for FGB. Also, I can be a mentor if you need me.

  7. Shogun says:

Mentor would be dope but seeing as how I have little to no moral compass coupled with my terrets of yelling random racial slurs and obsenities this could be a problem for some lol.

On a serious note though 5 days a week for a 9 am would be great! I am all for at least having one mid-day for some of us who R working odd schedules such as waitresses, self-employed people or students. Or in my case being on unemployment…

  8. Olga says:

I’ll be a mentor for sure!

  9. Piper says:

I am in for the 9 am class!!

I would love to be a mentor, I am still a new person and have alot to learn, but I can be a motivator!!! :)

~The intermediate requirements listed on the NLP site are still a little too tough for me. I’ll be there to cheer y’all on for sure!
~I could make a couple of the 9 am classes per week. That would be a great addition.
    ~Happy to mentor
~Yell at you, Andre? Name the time & date – I’m there for you!

The NLP Competition is still 8 weeks away- so for those who are looking at the requirements today- what a great way to set some goals to be stronger and faster. It is a fun event, and even more fun to train for! Jill- sign up!!! 2 Weeks ago you were using the band for pull-ups and two nights ago when I was coaching you did 100 pull-ups- NO BAND- for the WOD!!!! Great seeing you all on Monday! alygirl

  14. Hammer says:

Nothing like a little FGB in the morning- Big Ups to Mike B for his leadership and motivation during the WOD… I have noticed some new faces in the 6am and am more then willing to answer any questions. The ONE gym record I have is probably all time attendance leader for the 6am class…

    • mike b says:

Hammer, if there was an extra kettle bell and a can of spray paint I would paint it gold and send it your way. I am sure you have the house record bud. thanks for the props too. FGB is always a great one to coach.

  15. Greg says:

All signed up for the NLP Comp.

  16. Jen G. says:

What about 8 AM instead of 9 AM on Tuesday and Thursday (since there’s no 7 AM those days)?

    I’ll be a mentor.

    • mike b says:

Jen, if you bring in some friends, neighbors, family, etc to to pack the gym a little tighter then I will teach those classes for you. Until then we dont have enough regulars to fill it.
      bring them in!!

great job this morning on your Fight Gone Bad!

FGB was pure punishment, but oddly, it was fun. I just registered for the next level event and am wondering if there will be some WOD’s tuned for training to compete. I would eventually like to learn how to do kipping pull ups….
